Waiting on Sungjae and Dead Fish in Ohio
I hope everybody has had a fulfilling and entertaining week. Everyone seems to be going nuts recently. There is something in the air, and it’s not whatever ABBA was trying to tell Fernando about.
Sungjae Im in the best. I haven’t been a fan for long, but he pulled me in quickly. I cannot wait for this fella to take home another trophy soon. He gets deserved praise from his peers alongside a stark absence of criticism. He hits the ball on a string and pulls it down like a bird that got shot out of the sky. Did anyone else see this guy's smile when Ricky Fowler got a hole in one last week in Arizona? Man, what a delightful and supportive playing partner. But here’s the thing I want to see out of Sungjae. Rip someone’s heart out. Make it hurt. Get two shots behind late on a Sunday and start clipping at the leader’s heels. Fire birdies while the others are drowning and take home your 3rd PGA Tour win. Then go for the 4th. I’m waiting Sungjae, and I’ll be watching.
What the hell is going on in Ohio?! Everything I say here is how I understand it. I am not a journalist but rather a concerned citizen looking for answers. I have done my due diligence in reading multiple sources coming from the nooks and crannies of the interweb. Digressing, a cargo train got derailed in East Palestine, Ohio on February 2nd. At least 5 containers tipped and started seeping the liquid they contained. This liquid turned out to be vinyl chloride. A liquid that is used in the making of many plastic products, but when in its raw form can be extremely harmful and toxic. The boiling point for this stuff is something like 8 degrees Fahrenheit, so as it seeped it boiled. I’m hearing the authorities then lit it all on fire, as one does. As a result, all kinds of bad shit is going down in the surrounding areas. People have headaches and coughs, livestock of all shapes and sizes are keeling over, dead fish are floating in the rivers. But that is only what we can see. The worst part about this whole story is that it somehow came across my wire on Monday, almost two weeks after the initial incident! What kind of widespread coverup are we in the midst of? Who is culpable? Mayor Pete? Cornelius Vanderbilt? George Santos? Odell Beckham Jr.? I say they are all guilty. We need answers! Another thing I’m suspicious of is all the tree cutting I’ve been noticing. It seems like too many. All these trees are chopped up into little pieces (apparently that’s called bucking) and left in front yards and other locations to be disposed or used at a later date. The tragic part is when I shared this observation with two members of my close circle they acted as if this has been a practice for generations. “Oh yeah, this is the best time of year to cut trees. The ground is frozen, the leaves are off. Everyone knows that. Keep your observations to yourself and fuck you.” Can you believe that? What the hell did I do?
